Refresh & Recharge, a mid-year Mojo Boost

Wow, can you believe we're already halfway through the year? Time really does fly!

As I reflect on the first six months of 2023, I realise my New Years' goals are already outdated. With my family growing up and we settle into our 'new normal' work set-ups, my priorities have definitely shifted.

For us working parents, finding the balance between work and personal time, individual and family goals can be a real challenge. But it's also incredibly important.

Being my birthday week, I thought what better way to kick off the celebrations than to reflect on the goals I've achieved so far and reassess with my 'parent-in-crime' what we want to accomplish and be celebrating at the end of the 2023.

And why wouldn't I share the love (strategy & workbook) with you all, I want us all creating a future that exceeds our wildest dreams!

Let's do this!

Part one - Just for you - Reflection and Realignment:

First things first, grab a pen and the Refresh & Recharge Workbook, get yourself a drink of choice, and find a comfortable spot where you can be alone with your thoughts. It's time to reflect on the past months:

  • Take a moment to look back and jot down all the things you've accomplished since the start of the year.

  • Celebrate your wins, big and small!

  • Reflect on the things that haven't quite gone to plan?

  • What has worked well for you and what has held you back?

  • What lessons have you learned along the way?

These reflections will give you valuable insights for the next steps.

Now, check in with yourself.

Are your goals still relevant? Do they align with your current priorities?

If not, no worries! Adjust and refine them based on the lessons learned and any changes in circumstances. We want to set realistic, specific, and measurable objectives that give us the best shot at success.

Part 2: Coming together as a team:

As a parent our goals, whether they are individual or family goals, involve more than just ourselves. We need the whole team to be on board and sharing the same vision.

Communication is the secret sauce! Armed with your reflections and insights, sit down with your partner (and kids) for an open and honest conversation:

  • Talk about how things have been going.

  • Listen to everyone's perspective.

  • Discuss the current balance of responsibilities.

  • And understand each person's individual and family goals.

Once everyone's goals are understood, it's time to prioritise them together, as a team.

By involving the whole family, we foster shared responsibility and ensure that everyone recognises the significance of each goal. Whether it's work, personal growth, self-care, or quality family time, each aspect deserves dedicated space. Consider blocking out specific time slots in your schedules to stay on track and achieve a balanced approach that accommodates everyone's needs.

This inclusive goal-setting process adds a fun and supportive dynamic, offering extra motivation, support, and accountability, especially during challenging times.

Hold regular family meetings to discuss progress, celebrate achievements, and make necessary adjustments, creating a nurturing environment that promotes growth and development.

Let’s make 2023 our year of breakthroughs and triumphs!

Don't settle for outdated goals - it's time to refresh, recharge, and redefine what success means for you and your family.
